Admission Requirements for Bachelor’s and Single Cycle’s Degrees

EU and Non-EU Students Residing in Italy with a Foreign Title

This category refers to students holding citizenship either of a Non-EU Country or EU country and the residence in Italy. In addition, students of this category hold a foreign title.

The required documents are:

  • The final title in original of the secondary studies, obtained after at least 12 years of schooling (minimum required by the Italian Law to enrol at the italian Universities). The twelve years may also include the pre-school year, provided that the attendance of this year was mandatory.
  • Certificate of successful completion of the academic proficiency examinations if required for admission to universities in the respective countries of origin.
  • The final title has to be accompanied by the Statement of Comparability issued by CIMEA (Center for Information on Mobility and Academic Equivalence) or by the declaration of value with legalization or “apostille” stamp and official Italian translation by the competent Italian diplomatic representation. If the Diplomatic Representation has not provided the requested documentation or has provided it in general or insufficient terms, Tor Vergata University of Rome reserves the right to require additional documentation.
  • Any other documentation required by the University, also in reference to verifying the truthfulness of the foreign qualification.

In the event that the local educational system provides a shorter schooling period:

  • it is necessary to demonstrate that they have attended a University, passing the relative exams, achieving altogether a number of schooling years equal to 12;
  • or be in possession of an Italian or foreign official post-secondary qualification obtained in a non-university higher institution;
  • or be in possession of certifications issued by Italian universities relating to the passing of the Foundation Course.

Non-EU Citizens Holding an Italian Title

This category refers to students holding both citizenship of a Non-EU Country with the residence abroad, hence applying for a study visa, and an italian title.

The required documents are:

  • Final Italian title;
  • Passport;
  • Admission letter (when provided by the program);
  • Pre-enrolment application (on Universitaly.it)

In order to obtain the Study Visa to enter in Italy from the Embassy/Consulate, you are required to fill out a pre-enrolment application on-line through the Universitaly portal. When filling out the application, please enter:

  • Tor Vergata University of Rome as your chosen University;
  • The University programme you have been admitted to;
  • The Embassy/Consulate where you need to apply for the Visa.

The pre-enrolment application will be verified by Tor Vergata University of Rome and forwarded to the Embassy or Consulate you have declared during the pre-enrolment application.

It will be in any case mandatory to go the Embassy/Consulate in order to finalise the pre-enrolment procedure and obtain the Study Visa.

Non-EU students Not Residing in Italy

This category refers to students holding citizenship of a Non-EU Country and resident abroad, hence applying for a study visa.

The required documents are:

  • The final title in original of the secondary studies, obtained after at least 12 years of schooling (minimum required by the Italian Law to enrol at the italian Universities). The twelve years may also include the pre-school year, provided that the attendance of this year was mandatory.
  • Certificate of successful completion of the academic proficiency examinations if required for admission to universities in the respective countries of origin

The required documents are:

  • The foreign final academic title corresponding to the first cycle according to the Bologna Process Qualifications Framework;
  • The final degree must mandatorily be accompanied by the Statement of Comparability issued by CIMEA;
  • The certificate issued by the competent University attesting the exams passed (Transcript) with the official translation into English or Diploma Supplement, if adopted;
  • Any other documentation required by the University, also with reference to the verification of the truthfulness of the foreign qualification.

Non-EU Citizens Holding an Italian Title

This category refers to students holding both citizenship of a Non-EU Country with the residence abroad, hence applying for a study visa, and an italian title.

The required documents are:

  • Final Italian title;
  • Passport;
  • Admission letter (when provided by the program);
  • Pre-enrolment application (on Universitaly.it)

In order to obtain the Study Visa to enter in Italy from the Embassy/Consulate, you are required to fill out a pre-enrolment application on-line through the Universitaly portal. When filling out the application, please enter:

Non-EU students Not Residing in Italy

This category refers to students holding citizenship of a Non-EU Country and resident abroad, hence applying for a study visa.

The required documents are:

  • The final degree must mandatorily be accompanied by the Statement of Comparability issued by CIMEA;
  • The certificate issued by the competent University attesting the exams passed (Transcript) with official translation into English or Diploma Supplement, if adopted;

Financing

DSU Regional Scholarships (Laziodisco)

Each student (regardless of nationality and country of residence) can apply for regional scholarships.

The student can benefit from:

  • tuition refund
  • a scholarship for international students with a maximum value of €7.081,40 paid in two instalments (on the basis of Income family)
  • free access to the university canteen

Eligibility is determined on the basis of merit and the family’s economic situation. Full details can be found in the Competition Notice for the allocation of Regional Scholarships.

Tuition fees for International applicants

Non-EU students whose families generate their incomes abroad can chose whether to declare their incomes and pay a fee based on it, or not declaring their family income and pay a flat-tax based on their Country

Here follows a detailed scheme to guide students through our fee system:

A. STUDENTS CHOOSING NOT TO DECLARE THEIR INCOME

Non-Eu students, to whom the ISEE is inapplicable in compliance with the Italian regulation, can choose to pay a yearly flat-tax contribution based on their Country of origin, as follows:

A1. – 2,500.00 €, if enrolled in the following degree courses (independently from the country of origin):

  • M.Sc. in Business Administration
  • M.Sc. in Finance and Banking
  • B. Sc. In Business Administration and Economics
  • M.Sc. in European Economy and Business Law
  • M.Sc. in Economics
  • B.A. in Global Governance
  • Degree Course in Pharmacy
  • One-cycle degree in Medicine and Surgery

A2. – 1,000.00 €, if enroled to any other degree course.

A3. – 500.00 € if coming from the so-called “developing countries”, as defined in the decree no. 62 dated 6th May 2020 issued by the MUR*. (except from the courses enlisted in a1.)

Please note: an additional regional tax and a stamp duty (156,00 € in total) will be added to these amounts.

*Afghanistan, Angola, Bangladesh, Benin, Bhutan, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambogia, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Congo Democratic Republic, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Haiti, Kiribati, Korea Dem. B. STUDENTS CHOOSING TO DECLARE THEIR INCOME

Both Eu* and Non-Eu students whose family generates an income abroad (including both winners and not winners of the scholarship), willing to declare their income and pay a tuition fee based on it (with an amount that can vary from a minimum of 156,00 € to the maximum taxation planned for the category to which the student belongs) have to submit to the University the ISEE Parificato (also called Scheda Raccolta Dati).

*Eu students are subject to the policy fee applied to National students.
